Rectangular Pipes
Rectangular pipes are a type of welded steel pipe characterized by their rectangular cross-sectional shape and the manufacturing process used to produce them. These pipes are created by rolling steel into a rectangular profile and welding the edges together using electric resistance heat, resulting in a high-strength, uniform product suitable for various applications in construction, manufacturing, and other industries.
Manufacturing Process
- Steel Coil Preparation: Steel coils are initially unrolled and processed into flat sheets or strips. These coils are made from high-quality steel and are selected based on the required specifications of the final product.
- Forming: The flat steel strip is fed through a series of rollers that shape it into a rectangular cross-section. This process involves gradual deformation, ensuring that the dimensions and angles are consistent throughout the length of the pipe.
- Welding: The edges of the formed rectangular steel strip are aligned and welded together using an electric resistance welding process. This method generates localized heat through electrical resistance, causing the edges to fuse and form a continuous weld seam. The result is a strong bond that maintains the integrity and strength of the pipe.
- Cooling and Sizing: After welding, the pipe is cooled and then further processed to meet specific size and shape requirements. Additional treatments, such as galvanizing or coating, may be applied to enhance corrosion resistance and durability.
